David Harvey
We went over the wiring, gave it a spray with WD40, cranked the engine and off she went, not to miss another beat all day, how do cars know the best time to stop??
Race 1, lining up it was great to see so many cars; the Mid-engined series was in comparison like a pub car park at 4 in the morning. As normal I made a crap start. I have been blaming the car for years, but my mate Brian, in this crap starting car went from 10th to 6th off the line in the last race, have to think of another excuse now!
At paddock hill I had dropped back to about 6th and had to take to the outside (scary that gravel trap get’s close) had several great battles trying to catch the leaders, but try as I might, I could not make any ground, Sean was just behind so I spent the later part of the Race keeping one eye in the mirror. Early in the race I missed a gear on the start finish straight with a car right in my slipstream, whoever that was you did a great job getting round me – sorry & well done you.
Did not understand the handicap race, had no idea were I was, but it was great fun. Two 20 minute races all in the same day – Heaven!!
Thanks to you all, LoT team, Drivers & Marshalls for a great weekend. Roll on Snett.
