Another great day!
Well after the success of brands its great to see eveything continuing and credit to paul for putting it all together.
Had another good day, qualified 6th although slower than I really should have been running. got a good start in race one but with scuffers missing a gear I had to back off and being on the outside lost several places to cars startiing on the inside line.,
Still had a good race with AJK untill my gearbox speed sensor melted which stopped the engine engaging VTEC, same problem I had in the 1st race at brands, so massive loss of power and 7k rev limit, saw Mr Mckean catching me and we had a great scrap untill the end of the race, have to thank Nipper for spinning in the Esses and going wide as that was where Neil was at that exact moment having had the run on me down the straight so I managed to hold on to chequered flag and keep 5th position.
A big thankyou to Mr Walsh who after his unfortunate demise in the 1st race very kindly lent me his speed sensor to get my car running properly again for the 2nd race as mine had completely melted.
Well starting from 33rd on grid out of 33 cars for handicap race wasnt exactly where i expected to be but proved for some interesting overtaking and another great battle with Neil, car held together and managed to run well untill i span coming out of the bombhole which let neil catch me back up and we battled to the flag again, still 12th place overall was a respectable result.
Echoing Randys thoughts, thanks to Maddog who helped out massively the night before the 1st race at brands my car would not have been finished if not for him, although if he says he has a good modification for your bonnet, dont let him do it!!!:p
Thanks to Lee and Stuart from Hoffmans(Randys new business venture) who me being a mechanical numpty did a vast amount of work on the car yesterday keeping it in race trim.
Have to ask though if anyone picked up a LoT coat from where we were set up in the paddock by accident, unfortunately it had my mobile phone and ipod in it and was still no where to be seen at the end of the day, ive cancelled the phone but ipod was present from my sister and more interested in getting that back than anythign else.
Looking forward to oulton park, although ive never been there and have heard its a great circuit.
