Racing_Aspirations: 1. To carry on from where I left off in 2008, with a 100% finish record and a few trips to the podium. 2. To never need my Nomex
About_You: Rob did track days and Nurburgring pilgrimages for a few years before finally starting racing in 2008. Having started Lotus ownership with an Elise S2 before finding out they were ghey (sic) and moving to an Exige S2 before realising they were relatively slow compared to tuned S1's, Rob saw the light in 2007 and moved to the dark side with a Sport 160 ripe for a Honda conversion. When the car was in for the Honda, he didn't take much persuading to get the race prep done at the same time. Usually pretty lucky with the weather on track days, Rob's lack of wet weather race experience wasn't actually put to the test until the last scheduled Elise Trophy 2008 round at Brands Indy in November, although his first ever qualifying session at Brands in March was in the sleet and snow, which certainly focused the mind!
Rob has lived and worked in Bristol running customer service IT for AOL for the past 13+ years, but having closed the office at the end of October 2008, Rob is now about to move to Northampton to become the new Arthur Daley. Recently married after the world's longest engagement to Gemma, he's hoping that all that good home cooking won't slow him down, although it's always another excuse to add to the list ;)
