Round 6 of the 2008 Elise Trophy held at Snetterton Park 20 July 2008.

Qualifying

In class A Michael Edwards got the better of Paul Quinn by taking pole with a time of 1:21.484. Quinn was 2nd, just 0.3s behind, with Marcus Jewell 3rd.

In class B Ben Pitch continued his recent good form with class pole in 6th overall with a time of 1:17.653, with Steve Williams in 10th and David Harvey in 15th.

Pole position in the newly formed 2-Eleven class was claimed by Adrian Mardlin in 4th overall with a time of 1:17.468, with Gavin Kirby 9th and Mark Gooday 11th.

In class C Andrew Walsh was the pace-setter with a time of 1:15.572, followed by Chris Pearson and Martin Donnelly.

Race 1 Class A

1. Paul Quinn 2. Michael Edwards 3. Marcus Jewell 4. Paul Harding 5. Mike Davies 6. Hans Baumhardt

Edwards and Quinn battled throughout the race , swapping places several times but it was Quinn who took the victory, crossing the line just 0.3s ahead of Edwards. Jewell was 3rd with Paul Harding 4th after his now customary flying start from 10th on the grid.

Race summary – 31 starters, 25 finished.

Pitch took the class B victory with 4th overall, with Williams in 9th and Harvey in 11th.

Mardlin was 7th overall to take victory in the 2-Eleven class, with Paul Bateman in 10th and Gooday in 12th.

In class C Walsh took a comfortable victory, with Chris Headlam 2nd and Donnelly 3rd (5th overall).

Race summary – 28 starters, 25 finished.

Race 2 Class A

1. Paul Quinn 2. Michael Edwards 3. Simon Deacon 4. Gary Broad 5. Stuart Kirkbride 6. Ian Berry

In the 2nd class A race of the day, the top 10 grid positions were reversed, but that didn’t stop Quinn coming through from 9th on the grid to take his 2nd victory of the day, with Edwards once again 2nd and Simon Deacon 3rd.

Race summary – 27 starters, 22 finished.

Pitch completed the double in class B with 5th overall, with Williams in 8th and Harvey in 12th.

Mardlin took a 2nd victory in the 2-Eleven class with 6th overall.

Another top 10 reversed grid didn’t stop Walsh from taking another comfortable victory from 10th on the grid in class C, although a spirited drive by Chris Randall (after an excursion into the corn field on lap 1 after tangling with Kirby!) to finish 2nd kept him on his toes.

Race summary – 24 starters, 22 finished.
